Cranfield, United Kingdom Cranfield University Full time
Role Overview

About the Role

As an Airport Firefighter and Operations Team Member at Cranfield University, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our airport operations. You will be responsible for carrying out rescue and fire-fighting duties, responding to reported incidents at the airport and within the wider university campus.

This will involve taking appropriate action in line with procedures to preserve life and minimise damage to property, while also administering medical care if required. You will work closely with our operations team to ensure the smooth running of airport activities, including aerodrome inspection duties and wildlife management.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, a commitment to client care, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. You will also need to possess well-developed communication skills, a flexible attitude to work, and the ability to meet the required fitness standards for firefighters.

Requirements

As a minimum, you must have a full valid UK driving licence, be medically fit, and be able to meet the required fitness standards for firefighters. Previous aviation fire-fighting experience (Civil Aviation Authority - CAA approved certification) would be an advantage, as would a LGV2 Licence. Holding a Firefighter rank would be beneficial, and we encourage applications and discussions from these individuals.
