Electrical Engineer - Harness & Power Supply Validation Specialist

Location: Cranfield

Hourly Rate: £27.00 p/h

We are seeking a skilled Harness & Power Supply Validation Specialist to join our team at a globally recognized automotive client based in Cranfield. This is a long-term contract role with the potential to run for several years.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test team in tasks related to the validation of power supply architecture reliability.
  2. Contribute to the confirmation of electronic parts and circuit functionality.
  3. Ensure the layout of the wiring loom and harness parts meets client design/test standards and regulatory requirements.

Additional responsibilities include:

  1. Developing test plans to align with project and design milestones.
  2. Creating testing procedures, confirming vehicle specifications, and arranging test parts and vehicle transportation.
  3. Coordinating vehicle tests and serving as the technical lead/project leader when necessary.
  4. Formally reporting test results to design sections and senior management.
  5. Investigating root causes and recommending countermeasures.
  6. Providing technical support to the production plant when required.
  7. Occasionally supporting field investigations.
  8. Managing some supplier activities.
  9. Generating test/investigation reports and validating commodities within project milestones.
  10. Ensuring the quality of electrical systems meets client standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
  1. Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  2. Understanding of electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices.
  3. Experience with Harness/EDS layout and application.
  4. Ability to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
  5. Demonstrated practical experience with problem-solving tools and techniques.
  6. Experience with automotive CAD tools.
Hours & Pay:

Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.

Hourly rate: £27.00 p/h.
