Electrical Engineer - Harness & Power Supply Validation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Harness & Power Supply Validation Specialist. This is a long-term contract role with a globally recognized automotive client based in Cranfield.

As a Harness & Power Supply Validation Specialist, you will support the Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test team with tasks related to the validation of power supply architecture reliability, circuit confirmation of electronic parts, and layout confirmation of the wiring loom and harness parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the EE Test team with tasks related to the validation of power supply architecture reliability.
  2. Confirm circuit functionality and performance of electronic parts.
  3. Verify the layout of the wiring loom and harness parts to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability meet client design/test standards and regulatory requirements.
Additional tasks include:
  1. Creation of test plans to align with project and design milestones.
  2. Development of testing procedures, confirmation of vehicle specifications, and arrangement of test parts and vehicle transportation.
  3. Coordination of vehicle tests, serving as the technical lead/project leader when necessary.
  4. Formal reporting of test results to design sections and senior management.
  5. Root cause investigation and recommendation of countermeasures.
  6. Providing technical support to the production plant when required.
  7. Occasional support for field investigations.
  8. Managing some supplier activities.
  9. Generating test/investigation reports and validating commodities within project milestones.
  10. Ensuring the quality of electrical systems meets client standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
  1. Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  2. Understanding of electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices.
  3. Experience with Harness/EDS layout and application.
  4. Ability to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
  5. Demonstrated practical experience with problem-solving tools and techniques.
  6. Experience with automotive CAD tools.
Hours & Pay:
Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.
Hourly rate: £27.00 p/h.

This position offers the chance to work on advanced harness and power supply validation projects in the automotive industry.
