Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team at Boots Opticians. As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient-centred care and ensuring the safe supply of medicines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide health advice and guidance to patients, tailoring conversations to meet their individual needs.
  • Deliver the technical aspects of the dispensary, including ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  • Comply with legal and professional requirements, as well as accepted guidance on professional practice in Boots.
  • Engage with GPs and practice teams to promote services and items.
  • Contribute to efficient dispensary operations and minimize dispensing losses.

Requirements:

  • Either an NVQ Level 2 equivalent in Pharmacy Services or working towards and having completed the first year of an MPharm course at university.
  • Completed a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent, with support for development to complete our training within 6 months of joining us.
  • Opportunity to develop your professional career and achieve a competency and knowledge-based NVQ Level 3 (QCF) qualification in Pharmacy Services, leading to registration with the GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician.
