Strategic Sales Director

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our field team, you will be responsible for owning the full sales cycle, including identifying, acquiring, expanding, and renewing customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver on sales targets by managing the sales funnel from new opportunity generation through closing
- Manage all sales activities in the designated territory, including prospecting new customers and accounts
- Develop product knowledge capabilities to position readily available catalogue products as well as custom manufactured cell and media products
- Understand customers' specific applications and propose the best Lonza solution in a consultative way
- Organize, plan, and schedule time to provide optimum and effective account and territory coverage
- Manage interactions proactively to drive customer satisfaction
- Coordinate support resources within Lonza to meet customer needs
- Share knowledge about applications and trends with the team to coach high team performance
- Maintain accurate customer data in CRM
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences
- Strong communication and solution-oriented skills
- Working understanding of cell culture and assay setup
- Hands-on industry experience within a Business Development environment is advantageous
- Able to work autonomously from a home-based office
- Fluency in English is a must; a second European language is beneficial
