About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our field team, you will be responsible for owning the full sales cycle, including identifying, acquiring, expanding, and renewing customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on sales targets by managing the sales funnel from new opportunity generation through closing
  • Manage all sales activities in the designated territory, including prospecting new customers and accounts
  • Develop product knowledge capabilities to position readily available catalogue products as well as custom manufactured cell and media products
  • Understand customers' specific applications and propose the best Lonza solution in a consultative way
  • Organize, plan, and schedule time to provide optimum and effective account and territory coverage
  • Manage interactions proactively to drive customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate support resources within Lonza to meet customer needs
  • Share knowledge about applications and trends with the team to coach high team performance
  • Maintain accurate customer data in CRM

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences
  • Strong communication and solution-oriented skills
  • Working understanding of cell culture and assay setup
  • Hands-on industry experience within a Business Development environment is advantageous
  • Able to work autonomously from a home-based office
  • Fluency in English is a must; a second European language is beneficial
