Mental Health Support Specialist

Job Description
The Mental Health Support Specialist will provide twilight mental health support to students at Bishop Grosseteste University. This role involves working closely with the full-time Mental Health Adviser to provide direct one-to-one support to students, creation and delivery of individual care plans, risk assessment, liaison with local health services, response to staff referrals, and creation of continuing professional development activities for staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide twilight mental health support to students
- Work closely with the full-time Mental Health Adviser
- Develop and deliver individual care plans
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies for vulnerable students
- Liaise with local health services to ensure students receive comprehensive support
Requirements
- Degree in a relevant field, including mental health nursing, social work, or psychology
- Current and recognised mental health qualification
- Expert knowledge of the mental health needs of young adults and students in higher education
- Ability to satisfy DBS requirements for safeguarding and working with vulnerable adults
