Job Summary

The Haematology Department at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Medical Secretary to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the consultants, Anticoagulant Specialists, and Haematology Nurses.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a complete confidential secretarial service, including transcribing complex medical terminology, managing Haematology Generic Emails, and giving out Pathology results from the ICE system.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing secretarial support to the consultants and other medical professionals
  • Managing emails and electronic referrals
  • Transcribing medical terminology and giving out Pathology results
  • Dealing with telephone and personal enquiries

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also have a sound knowledge of medical terminology and experience of working in a healthcare setting.

Requirements

  • AMSPAR or equivalent level of knowledge

  • Secretarial experience

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time role, working Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly and be able to prioritize their workload effectively.
