An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Children’s Services Department at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and committed Pathway Navigator/Medical Secretary to join the secretarial team at Hemel Hempstead General Hospital.

The successful applicant will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, together with advanced IT skills.

They will provide an efficient and comprehensive secretarial service to the Consultants and the Multi-Disciplinary Team.

There has never been a more exciting time to join West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Major redevelopment works are planned as part of the New Hospital Programme. These will be most dramatic at Watford General Hospital where up to 90% of buildings will be new.

The Pathway Navigator/Medical Secretary will actively manage the administrative processes attached to the patient pathways ensuring a smooth and efficient service for both the multidisciplinary team and patients.

The post holder is expected to provide an efficient and effective administrative service to a multidisciplinary team, actively managing administrative processes and coordination of the patient pathway.

This includes validation, bookings, supporting clinical letter processing via the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system and solving queries as they arise.

The Pathway Navigator will support with access and quality targets, identifying any potential issues and escalating this to the team leader.

The postholder will act as primary contact between external stakeholders and internal staff, providing relevant information as appropriate.
