About the Role:
Join our team as an Accounts Payable Assistant and contribute to the efficiency and financial health of our operations. This role involves managing supplier invoices, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely payments. As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Invoice Processing: Manage incoming invoices from suppliers, addressing queries and navigating various statuses to ensure prompt payment.
2. Timely Payments: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers by ensuring timely payments, crucial for securing favourable terms and future business opportunities.
3. Compliance and Record-Keeping: Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements.
4. Budget Management and Cost Control: Verify the accuracy of amounts owed, reconcile supplier statements, and identify potential errors or duplications.
5. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the AP team, other departments, and suppliers to resolve issues and streamline processes.

Essential Skills and Experience:
1. Detailed knowledge of Accounts Payable/P2P processes.
2. Familiarity with the Procure-to-Pay cycle and basic accounting principles (debits and credits).
3. Experience in a Shared Service Environment.
4. Strong problem-solving, prioritisation, and planning skills.
5. Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
6. Customer-focused with a positive outlook and high motivation.
7. Proficiency in navigating systems and Excel skills.
8. AAT qualification.
