Job Summary:

Lumentum is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies, promoting a culture of safety within the workplace, and implementing strategies to minimize risks related to health, safety, and environmental impacts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement EHS Policies: Create, implement, and monitor comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and procedures in line with UK legislation and company standards.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures to minimize risks.
  • Internal and External Audits: Lead internal audits and prepare for external audits to ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant standards.
  • Emergency Response Planning: Manage and coordinate emergency response plans and procedures, including training staff on emergency preparedness.
  • Incident Analysis and Reporting: Analyze accident and incident reports to identify patterns and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • EHS Training and Development: Develop and deliver Environmental, Health, and Safety training programs to all levels of staff, fostering a culture of safety and awareness throughout the organization.
  • Hazardous Materials Management: Oversee the management of hazardous materials, including waste disposal and recycling programs.
  • EHS Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Prepare and manage the EHS budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support EHS initiatives.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership and direction to the EHS team, setting objectives, and evaluating performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Certifications: NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification relevant to the UK.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in EHS management.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing setting (cleanroom manufacturing is preferred).
  • Knowledge and Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of UK environmental, health, and safety legislation. Experience and knowledge of EHS management systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Formal lead auditor qualifications in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is preferred.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Proven track record of improving EHS performance and culture in a manufacturing setting. Demonstrated leadership and teamwork collaboration in professional settings.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills: Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent computer and information technology skills, including MS Office applications, MS SharePoint, Box, or similar applications.
