**About the Role:**

We are seeking an ambitious and highly motivated individual to join our Paediatric Oncology team at the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will have a solid grounding in Acute Paediatric Medicine, knowledge of Haematology care, and experience working with children with leukaemia, solid tumours, and adolescents with malignancies.

This six-month position offers comprehensive training in clinical aspects of Paediatric Oncology, working within the Department of Paediatric Oncology (Royal Victoria Infirmary) within the Children's Directorate of the trust.

The postholder will gain experience in managing patients with various extracranial solid tumours, brain tumours, and young people undergoing Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation and Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell therapy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising children in-patient, day case, and out-patient care
  • Maintaining accurate patient documentation and discharge summaries
  • Providing administrative support for the Paediatric Oncology Unit
  • Participating in research projects, focusing on areas like Leukaemic Stem Cells, Chromosomal abnormalities in ALL, and molecular pharmacology of anti-cancer agents

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a commitment to personal and unit CPD. A flexible approach to service delivery and ability to manage time effectively are also essential.
