Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Paediatric Psychology Service in Newcastle upon Tyne. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering clinical psychology services to children and their families, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver psychologically informed care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health psychology and significant experience of working with children and their families.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical psychology assessment, formulation, and intervention with patients and their families
  • Support the MDT in delivering psychologically informed care
  • Train staff on psychological models related to pain and major traumas
  • Contribute to Service Evaluation and Quality Improvement initiatives
  • Supervise assistants, trainees, and qualified clinical psychology staff as required
  • Line manage clinical psychology staff as required
  • Participate in the Paediatric Psychology Managers team

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology
  • HCPC Registration
  • Post-graduate training relevant speciality e.g. neuropsychology, CBT, CAT
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment of patients across the full range of care settings

Salary: £45,963 - £70,917 per annum (Band 8b).
