About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Turning Point. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for the effective management, development, and delivery of all psycho-social interventions within our Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) service.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide clinical guidance, training, and leadership to a team of Senior Assistant and Assistant Psychologists who facilitate psycho-social interventions with individuals on a Mental Health Treatment Requirement.
  • Use your expertise to build on a range of innovative approaches developed within other Turning Point MHTR services, working closely with our Clinical Lead under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
  • Be responsible for the systematic governance of the Leicestershire MHTR service alongside operational colleagues.
  • Offer practical advice on evidence-based psychological interventions to colleagues as well as local agencies and organizations.
  • Inspire, develop, and coordinate everyone on your team, helping them to develop psychological formulation skills and a trauma-informed approach.
  • Have a small caseload of service users with complex needs, providing specialist psychological assessments and therapies.
  • Have a significant impact on the strategic direction and development of the service as a whole, building strong professional links with other statutory and voluntary service providers.
  • Explore ways to continuously improve our services and integrate wider issues, such as housing, employment, and finances, into the overall treatment process.

**Requirements:**

  • Up-to-date registration through the Health and Social Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist.
  • A doctorate in your professional specialism and proven ability to deliver psychological services.
  • Experience of leading and supervising clinical staff, ideally with experience of working with substance misuse service users.
  • Formal training in supervision, although not essential, would be desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and commitment to the Recovery Agenda.
