Nurse Specialist

The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Coronary Care Unit at University Hospital Hairmyres. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing care needs and developing programmes of care, as well as implementing and evaluating these programmes to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to patients.
You will work closely with other staff members to promote best practice in patient care and provide cover in the absence of the senior charge nurse or team leader. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to work effectively with people and as part of a team.

Requirements
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
- Excellent team working skills and ability to work using own initiative
- Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to degree level or training undertaken post-registration courses
- Evidence of CPD e.g. Flying Start, meeting PREP standards
- Post-registration experience
- Previous cardiac experience or previous cardiac experience within the acute setting
- Evidence of post-registration skills e.g. IV drug therapy, cannulation and phlebotomy
- Evidence of positive role modelling
- Ability to use NHS Patient Management Systems
- Cardiac rhythm recognition and ECG reading skills
- Arterial sheath management
Contract Type and Location
- Permanent
- 37 hours
- This role will be based in the Coronary Care Unit within University Hospital Hairmyres
