Clinical Leadership Specialist

As a Clinical Leadership Specialist within the surgical department at University Hospital Hairmyres, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The Role
This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, and we are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in clinical leadership and expertise in specialist areas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a specialist caseload, utilizing evidence-based practice and client-centered principles to assess, plan, and implement care.
The role also involves providing expert advice and support, operating within defined specialisms across NHS Lanarkshire, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of clinical audit and research activities.
You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective care, and provide leadership within the scope of your role.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional (AHP) with valid registration
- Educated to degree level
- Postgraduate qualification at a minimum of Level 10 (Hons) or working towards
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
- Expertise within the required specialism or area of practice, demonstrating breadth of knowledge to lead safely, effectively, and efficiently
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialism or area of practice
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the specialism or area of practice
- Leadership skills to enable day-to-day management of service delivery
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the area of specialty, including study days/courses/postgraduate qualifications
- Excellent team-working/leadership skills and ability to motivate others, working using own initiative
- Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Effective time management skills
