The successful candidate will work in the Biochemistry Department at University Hospital Hairmyres, processing a range of specialist and routine laboratory diagnostic investigations in Biochemistry using scientific measurements and technical procedures on patient samples.

As a Clinical Research Biomedical Scientist, you will provide expert advice to clinicians and other healthcare staff on the appropriateness of tests and time-scales, while also being responsible for your own work and utilizing your specialist training to operate complex equipment and solve problems.

You will act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues and participate in training/supervision of Trainee Biomedical Scientists and Medical Laboratory Assistants.

Salary: £34,449 - £43,041 per annum

Location: University Hospital Hairmyres, Lanarkshire

Working Pattern: Various shifts, 1 in 15 rota

To be considered for this position, you must have state registration with the Health Professions Council and hold a BSc honours degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent. You should also have formal evidence of specialist knowledge of a range of discipline-specific procedures and evidence of continuing professional development.
