Lead Biomedical Scientist in Haematology and Transfusion

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist to take on a senior role within the Haematology/Transfusion Laboratory at Liverpool Clinical Laboratories.
This is a very busy department dedicated to providing high-quality patient-centered services. The laboratory supports various specialist services, including haemophilia centers and antenatal screening services.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of theoretical and practical knowledge of haematology procedures and experience in supervising and managing staff. They will be responsible for contributing to the laboratory's provision of a high-quality, cost-effective clinical and laboratory service.
Key responsibilities include providing timely and accurate results using automated and manual processes, authorizing and issuing compatible blood products, and participating in training and competency assessment of scientific and clinical staff.
The ideal candidate will have extensive post-registration experience in haematology, demonstrable ability to meet deadlines, excellent communication skills, and numeracy. A willingness to undertake further study is also essential.
Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers a competitive salary package, including an estimated £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. This role presents an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
