Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Patient Access Coordinator at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate appointments for outpatient and inpatient radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point of contact for queries relating to scheduling of patient appointments and coordination of patient treatment pathways.
  • Provide a professional and efficient point of contact for patients, ensuring that their needs are met and their concerns are addressed.
  • Identify individual patient needs and coordinate support for patient attendance, including accessibility, patient transport, and interpreter services.
  • Support the scheduling of all patients' appointments in line with Trust and National waiting time targets.
  • Attend regular meetings with management and clinical teams to review capacity and support action to utilize clinical capacity.

Person Specification:

We are looking for someone with the following skills and qualifications:

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • GCSE English or equivalent.
  • GCSE Mathematics or equivalent.
  • Experience in customer service and supporting cancer patients.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, organizational ability, and ability to manage own time and prioritize tasks.
