Chief Cardiac Physiologist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chief Cardiac Physiologist to lead our Echocardiography service at The Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth. As a key member of our Cardiology team, you will be responsible for supporting the continued growth and development of our echocardiography and pacing service.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in cardiac investigations within your skill-base and have a working knowledge of all aspects of our services, including administrative duties.
- Act as an independent practitioner without direct supervision, adhering to BSE, SCST, and NICE guidelines.
- Maintain expertise in cardiac resuscitation procedures and ensure safe use of complex cardiology testing equipment.
- Implement quality controls and assurance in accordance with agreed standards.
- Perform a wide range of non-invasive investigations independently, including echocardiograms, Holter analysis, and pacemaker checks.
- Manage pacemaker follow-up lists, conducting annual reviews and writing technical reports for relevant investigations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and protocols within the department of cardiology.
- Undertake research and clinical audit in conjunction with physicians and managers.
- BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
- ILS or BLS certification.
- RCCP registration (desirable).
- BSE or equivalent.
- Experience as an independent practitioner in cardiology investigations.
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Leadership and teaching skills.
