Job Title: Chief Cardiac Physiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Cardiac Physiologist to lead our Echocardiography service and support the continued growth and development of the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Echocardiography service and ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Support the Cardiology department in other cardiac investigations.
  • Perform resting Transthoracic Echo, Exercise stress and Dobutamine Stress echo, bubble and contrast echo, 12 Lead ECGs, Holter Monitoring and Analysis, Event Monitoring, Blood pressure Monitoring, Exercise Testing, routine pacemaker checks.
  • Write clinical reports for transthoracic echocardiography to a BSE standard.
  • Provide physiologist clinical reports following holter and ETT analysis.
  • Assist in Pacemaker and Implantable Loop recorder implantation.
  • Use Medtronic, Boston Scientific and St Jude Pacemaker programmers.
  • Independently perform and report Adult Transthoracic Echocardiograms.
  • Experience in assisting with/performing Exercise and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms and bubble and contrast echocardiograms.
  • 24 hour Holter analysis.
  • Perform a wide range of non-invasive investigations independently.
  • Understanding of cardiac procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Teaching skills.
Requirements:
  • BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
  • ILS or BLS.
  • RCCP registration (desirable).
  • BSE or equivalent.
  • Experience as independent practitioner in cardiology investigations.
  • Experience of assisting in Pacemaker and Implantable Loop recorder implantation (desirable).
  • The use of Medtronic, Boston Scientific and St Jude Pacemaker programmers (desirable).
  • Able to independently perform and report Adult Transthoracic Echocardiograms (essential).
  • Experience in assisting with/performing Exercise and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms and bubble and contrast echocardiograms.
  • 24 hour Holter analysis.
  • Able to perform a wide range of non-invasive investigations independently.
  • Understanding of cardiac procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
