Safety and Compliance Specialist

Join Encocam Ltd, a leading manufacturer in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. We are seeking an experienced Quality, Environment, Health & Safety Manager to oversee our integrated management systems.
About the RoleThis challenging position involves directing business operations on all Quality, Health and Safety areas to ensure we maintain a safe and efficient working environment while fostering a continuous improvement culture.
Main Responsibilities:- Quality Management
- Maintain and implement the integrated business auditing programme.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing company processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Lead root cause analysis of preventative and corrective actions, ensuring their effectiveness and satisfactory completion.
- Maintain the Certificate of Conformance process.
- Prepare and present monthly management information e.g., defect, audit reports etc.
- Develop and manage integrated management systems based on the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 17025:2017, and ISO 14001:2015.
- Complete Competence Assessments and audits of our test laboratory as required by ISO 17025.
- Manage ISO 14001 environmental system including regulatory consents and permissions for hazardous materials storage and emissions, waste management, and energy utilisation.
- Health and Safety Management
- Develop a risk management strategy for the business, working with Senior Management and Business Unit Managers to implement it across all divisions.
- Assist in reviewing the H&S Manual, Policy Statement, etc., taking a hands-on approach to deliver this.
- Evaluate that Encocam complies with legislation and best practice on all aspects of H&S and occupational health.
- Plan and carry out H&S audits across the company, maintaining records, and following up improvement actions where required.
- Develop and facilitate a Contractor and Visitor safety briefing.
- Lead H&S committee meetings, proposing an agenda in advance and tabling items as needed.
- Manage accident, Near-Miss, and First Aid reports, producing statistics as required.
- Respond to reports appropriately and conduct investigations as necessary.
- Ensure documentation is fit for purpose and simple to use (e.g., First Aid Report forms, Spill/Fire Incident forms).
- Carry out Occupational Health inspections, samples, and surveys on both programmed proactive and reactive bases, reporting findings and considering any action required.
To be successful, you should have an HNC or above in an engineering discipline and/or a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
