About Mears

Mears is a leading provider of social housing services, dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities across the UK. We are currently seeking an experienced Welfare Support Officer to join our team in providing essential support services to families under the Afghan Resettlement and Assistance Policy.

As a Welfare Support Officer with Mears, you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being and safety of service users, including monitoring their support needs, providing practical and emotional support, and maintaining accurate records for audit purposes. Your ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries will be essential in delivering a high-quality service that meets the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering integration support services to occupants in transit estates
  • Providing safeguarding and welfare support to service users
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating them as necessary
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues, local authorities, and service users

Requirements:

  • Experience working with vulnerable client groups
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Ability to identify individuals' and families' support needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full UK driving license
