South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Manager to lead the Beaumont Ward team. As a key member of the trust's senior nursing management team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and management expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities- Provide strong visible leadership to all staff within the ward and across the organisation, ensuring that nursing practice is up to date, evidence-based, and cost-effective.
- Develop and implement ward-based clinical policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with trust policies and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate ward performance against organisational objectives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to meet service demands.
- Lead the development and implementation of quality initiatives, such as Care Excellence Accreditation, PCIs, and Health Roster KPIs.
- Ensure a strong team focus on high-quality, clinically effective healthcare that meets patient needs, is embedded in ward culture.
- Develop and maintain a robust system for checking professional registration of nursing staff on appointment and annually thereafter, ensuring compliance with trust policy.
- First-level nurse with a degree in professional nursing or health studies, or working towards.
- Post-registration management qualification or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Experience in nurse management, with a minimum of 36 months experience at band 6 within an acute hospital setting.
- Experience of change management and working within an Early Pregnancy and Gynaecology setting.
- Ability to demonstrate characteristics of effective leadership.
- Ability to motivate, train, and develop staff.
- Innovative, positive, and able to stimulate a productive team.
- Able to set and achieve individual and team objectives, meeting deadlines.
- Able to role model both clinically and managerially.
