About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of French to lead our French department and contribute to the academic success of our students.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for French language and culture, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.

As Head of French, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum that meets the needs of all students, from KS3 to GCSE level.

You will work closely with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective teaching and learning approach, and will be expected to contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of teaching and leading in a secondary school setting, and will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of the French curriculum and its implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive French curriculum that meets the needs of all students
  • Lead and manage the French department, including staff development and performance management
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective teaching and learning approach
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, and make adjustments to teaching and learning strategies as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of teaching and leading in a secondary school setting
  • Deep understanding of the French curriculum and its implementation
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
