The York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join their Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancer Clinical Team. The successful candidate will be based at York Hospital, working closely with the existing team to provide expert care to patients with GI cancer.

Job Description

This full-time Band 6 position offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned Nurse Practitioner to expand their skills and knowledge in GI oncology. Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will provide high-quality patient care, advocating for their needs and delivering personalized treatment plans.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and lead service improvement projects to enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
  2. BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH SPECIALISTS, ATTENDING EDUCATIONAL EVENTS TO STAY UP-TO-DATE ON THE LATEST TREATMENT OPTIONS.
  3. PROMOTE THE GI TEAM AT CANCER AWARENESS EVENTS, RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF EARLY DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT.
  4. WORK CROSS-SITE AS REQUIRED, ENSURING THE SERVICE IS COVERED AND PATIENTS RECEIVE CONTINUITY OF CARE.
  5. DELIVER NURSE-LED CLINICS, PROVIDING INFORMATION AND SUPPORT TO PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES ABOUT GI CANCER DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT OPTIONS, AND AFTER-CARE.
Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £41,000 - £54,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including access to the NHS Pension Scheme, generous holiday entitlement, and opportunities for professional development.
