Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Process Engineer to lead the mechanical aspects of a large-scale nuclear sector project. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a challenging project, with a competitive salary and benefits package.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with significant experience in the nuclear industry. You will be responsible for producing mechanical engineering design deliverables, contributing to safety reviews and risk assessments, and checking mechanical deliverables to ensure they meet quality and compliance controls.

About the Project:

This is a large-scale project in the nuclear sector, requiring the services of a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Process Engineer. The project involves leading the mechanical aspects of the project, producing design deliverables, and collaborating with other team members to deliver a high-quality solution.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical aspects of the project
  • Produce mechanical engineering design deliverables, including calculations, datasheets, specifications, and schedules
  • Contribute to safety reviews and risk assessments
  • Check mechanical deliverables to ensure they meet quality and compliance controls
  • Review vendor quotations and liaise with equipment and package vendors
  • Specify, design, and evaluate utility systems
  • Check piping design documents, including isometrics and layout drawings
  • Assist in plant layout development
  • Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary design team members to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Significant experience in the nuclear sector
  • Experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams
  • Experience in nuclear fuel reprocessing
  • Ownership, innovation, initiative, and client satisfaction driven

Location: Manchester / North West

Rate: Up to £70 per hour (Inside IR35)
