As a Reticulation Cadet, you will assist in the operations and maintenance of water, wastewater, and stormwater networks, ensuring infrastructure functions effectively and meets regulatory standards. This cadetship will provide you with the opportunity to learn from experienced technicians, work on essential utility networks, and gain industry-recognised qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the operation, inspection, and maintenance of water, wastewater, and stormwater reticulation systems.
  • Support in the repair and maintenance of pipes, valves, hydrants, pumps, and other network infrastructure.
  • Learn to locate and diagnose faults in the network and assist with resolving issues, including leaks and blockages.
  • Help with conducting regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure the continued operation of the reticulation system.
  • Gain practical skills in water sampling, pressure testing, and flow monitoring.
  • Complete training modules to develop technical expertise and industry certifications.

Requirements:

  • A strong interest in water infrastructure or environmental services.
  • Basic mechanical or practical skills are beneficial but not required.
  • A valid New Zealand driver's license (or ability to obtain one) is preferred.
