Job Description

Westmorland and Furness Council, a leading public sector organization, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Highways Engagement Officer within its Sustainable Transport and Highways service.

The successful candidate will provide specialist support to ensure the effective management, handling, and response to customer requests from service users. As part of this role, you will work collaboratively with a team of up to 10 people, alongside colleagues in the wider highways service, internal/external stakeholders, and the Council's service centre, which acts as the first point of contact for the highways service.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction is a top priority
  • Assisting in the continuous development and maintenance of systems and processes, including analyzing relevant data and trends
  • Working collaboratively with the team to manage individual or team workloads in an ever-changing environment

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. In addition, they will have a flexible approach to working and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
