Curriculum Lead of Biology Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious Curriculum Lead of Biology to join our Biology department at Astonishing School in Derby. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our students and contributing to the school's mission to provide exceptional education.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Biology department, developing and implementing curriculum plans, and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning. You will work closely with colleagues to promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Biology department and develop curriculum plans that meet the needs of all students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and achievement
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
  • Contribute to the development of the school's curriculum and assessment policies

Requirements

  • ECT or experienced in teaching Biology to GCSE and A-Level
  • Ofsted-rated Good practitioner with a passion for Biology
  • Excellent communication and ICT skills
  • A commitment to fresh and exciting methods of delivering the curriculum
  • A relentless drive to secure the best possible outcomes for students of all abilities

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree in Biology or similar

Salary

The salary for this Curriculum Lead of Biology position will be paid to scale MPS/UPS.
