Curriculum Lead of Biology Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious Curriculum Lead of Biology to join our Biology department at Astonishing School in Derby. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our students and contributing to the school's mission to provide exceptional education.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our Biology curriculum, ensuring that it is engaging, challenging, and relevant to the needs of our students. You will work closely with our teaching staff to design and deliver high-quality lessons, assessments, and resources that promote student achievement and progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Biology curriculum that meets the needs of our students
  • Lead and manage the Biology department, including staff development and performance management
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver high-quality lessons and assessments
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures related to Biology education

Requirements

  • QTS or PGCE in Biology or a related subject
  • Experience of leading and managing a team of teachers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Passion for Biology education and commitment to student achievement
