[Accounts Payable Assistant

Job Purpose:
The Recruitment Co is seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Assistant to join their team in a 12-month maternity cover role. This position is responsible for processing and settling all supplier and intercompany invoices in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timely processing of purchase invoices, including matching and coding
- Entering authorised purchase invoices onto the accounting system
- Preparing and processing payments to creditors in accordance with agreed procedures
- Reconciling supplier statements on a timely basis
- Recognising and dealing with supplier queries
- Liaison with the purchasing team and third-party suppliers
- Maintenance of the purchase ledger
- Reconciliation of intercompany balances
Requirements:
- Previous AP experience is essential, with a background in manufacturing or pharma/biopharma being beneficial
- Excellent communication skills for effective liaison with stakeholders
- Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as being a strong team player
- IT literacy, with a good level of experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- SAP experience, preferably in purchasing, is preferred
- Willingness to take ownership of challenging situations and drive effective closure
