Bioinformatics Research Scientist

About the Role
The UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health is seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow in Bioinformatics to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our research group, you will play a crucial role in conducting advanced bioinformatics analyses to interpret high-throughput sequencing data, focusing on single-cell and bulk RNA and DNA datasets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and apply innovative computational methods and algorithms to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets in oncology, critical to tumour maintenance, evolution, and metastasis.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including molecular biologists, oncologists, and computational scientists, to design and implement integrative data analysis pipelines.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of bioinformatics tools and databases to support the research community.
- Present findings at national and international conferences and publish results in high-impact scientific journals.
- Supervise and mentor junior researchers and students in bioinformatics methodologies and best practices.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced researcher with a strong background in bioinformatics and computational biology. You will have a proven track record of conducting advanced bioinformatics analyses and developing innovative computational methods. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to achieve our research goals.
