Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Scientist Bioinformatics to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics, with a particular focus on algorithm development, biomarkers, and oncology. The role will involve developing innovative genomics solutions to support treatment decisions based on the cancers molecular profile, early detection, and monitoring of malignancies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze experiments to support existing or new Illumina oncology assays in collaboration with our experimental and bioinformatics teams.
- Develop and prototype algorithms for genomic biomarkers to meet novel molecular diagnostic needs.
- Provide technical guidance to internal and external collaborators.
- Participate in cross-functional assay and algorithm research and development teams with minimal oversight.
- Effectively communicate plans and results across functions.
Requirements:
- PhD in bioinformatics, computation biology, statistics, math, or a related field.
- Fluency in at least two of statistics, common bioinformatics methods, and NGS data analysis.
- Experience with developing bioinformatics NGS algorithms and methodology.
- Fluency in programming languages such as Python or C.
- Good communication skills to contribute to cross-functional project teams and work with stakeholders.
