About the Role

The Francis Crick Institute is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatician to join our Bioinformatics & Biostatistics Scientific Technology Platform (STP). As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our scientists to design and implement cutting-edge bioinformatics solutions for large-scale genomic data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert bioinformatics support to our scientists, including data analysis, pipeline development, and result interpretation.
  • Collaborate with our research teams to design and implement novel bioinformatics approaches for complex research questions.
  • Develop and maintain high-performance computing pipelines for large-scale data analysis.
  • Communicate complex bioinformatics concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including scientists and project managers.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in bioinformatics and computational biology, and apply this knowledge to improve our research capabilities.

Requirements

  • PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in bioinformatics, including data analysis, pipeline development, and result interpretation.
  • Excellent programming skills in languages such as R, Python, or Java.
  • Strong understanding of high-performance computing and data storage systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
