About the Role

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, person-centered care to young people aged 12-18 experiencing acute mental illness.

The Young People's Unit (YPU) is a regional service providing 12 beds for young people from across the North of Scotland. We offer a range of therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family work. As a senior nurse in the YPU, you will be responsible for assessing care needs, evaluating programs of care, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess care needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Evaluate programs of care and make recommendations for improvement
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
  • Provide education and training to staff on mental health issues and best practices
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be registered on Sub-part 1: Mental Health Level 1 or Learning Disabilities Level 1 of the UK NMC Register. You should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
