Job Title: Autism Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Worker to join our team at a Primary School in the Preston area.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position (8.30am-3.30pm) with a start date of September 2024. The role is ongoing, with the potential for permanence in the future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) throughout the school day
  • Work with pupils across the specialist provision, incorporating the use of senses into learning
  • Assist pupils with speech, language, and communication needs
  • Consider the choices, needs, and wishes of each pupil, and encourage them to make informed decisions
About the School:

The school caters for pupils with a range of needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulty (MLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and ASC. The school is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all pupils.

Requirements:

Applicants should have a Level 2 qualification in a relevant field, such as teaching and learning or teaching assistance. Experience working with pupils with ASC and challenging behaviors is desirable, but not essential. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check and provide references.
