About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pastoral Leader to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Pastoral Leader, you will play a vital role in supporting the behaviour and welfare of students in a year group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting students with behaviour and pastoral needs
  • Working with students, staff, and families to promote student well-being
  • Supervising student entry and dealing with any issues at Key Stage entrances
  • Following up on attendance concerns with students and parents
  • Liaising with the attendance team to check on student attendance
  • Updating administrative systems and records
  • Contributing to student profile reports and their use in pastoral matters
  • Arranging and servicing meetings with parents and other agencies
  • Supporting the safeguarding, attendance, and welfare officers in their roles

Requirements

  • Educated to a minimum of GCSE Level or equivalent
  • Qualifications relevant to the role are desirable
  • Experience working with children is essential
  • Ability to provide clear advice and information to parents and staff
  • Ability to relate sensitively to students with complex problems
  • Understanding of confidentiality and legal frameworks governing data
  • Knowledge and understanding of keeping children safe in education
  • At least two years' experience in an educational or social work setting
