Job Description

At Guy's & St Thomas' Foundation, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations and Business Partnership Specialist to join our busy and growing Finance team.

Role Overview

This role will provide essential support to the Finance team, encompassing financial operations, data integrity, and business partnership functions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing multiple staff, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions, and providing strategic decision support to core teams.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent numerical skills, advanced Excel expertise, and strong problem-solving abilities. Additionally, they will have experience in managing multiple staff, producing management information, and cultivating successful business relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations: Manage day-to-day transactional processing and reporting activities, including purchase ledger, accounts payable, gift processing, charitable spending, payments, receipts, bank reconciliations, corporate credit cards, payroll, and VAT coding.
  • Line Management: Effectively manage a team of six staff, including Management Accountant, Senior Finance Assistant, and two Finance Assistants, ensuring clear goals, objectives, and responsibilities are established and maintained.
  • Reporting and Insight: Monitor expenditure against budget, investigate variances, and produce monthly budget holder reports to support informed decision-making.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with core teams to enhance performance, develop effective financial performance information, and support operational decision-making.
Requirements
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or qualified accounting technician (e.g., AAT).
  • Demonstrable experience of managing multiple staff in a busy, transaction-focused team.
  • Solid experience of purchase ledger, payment processes, and bank reconciliations.
  • Established track record of cultivating successful business relationships and partnerships.
