Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Rheumatologist to join our team at the NHS. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy and dynamic environment, providing high-quality care to patients with rheumatic diseases.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both inpatient and outpatient Rheumatology services, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients. The post will involve managing a broad rheumatology caseload, including vasculitis and connective tissue disease, as well as participating in research and educational activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, managing a broad rheumatology caseload, including vasculitis and connective tissue disease
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients
  • Participate in research and educational activities to advance the field of Rheumatology
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

Full GMC registration with Licence to Practice, and on the specialist register in rheumatologyMRCP or equivalentExperience in managing a broad rheumatology caseload, and appropriate subspecialty trainingAbility to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriateWorking Conditions

This is a full-time post with 10 PAs, which will comprise 7.5 PAs for direct clinical care and 2.5 PAs for supporting professional activities. There are no weekend working commitments, but consideration may be given for time off in lieu. Applicants will be expected to work effectively and constructively with management and other colleagues to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to patients.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £123,000 - £143,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including access to continuing professional development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a comprehensive health and wellbeing package.
