About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Outreach Play Specialist to join our team at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. As a key member of our community services team, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic and generic play and leisure activities for babies, children, and young people with complex and/or palliative care needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual programs of activity for babies, children, and young people in their homes and community settings.
  • Support family members in creating meaningful and enjoyable memories with their loved ones.
  • Advise and support family members on specialist play and provide recommendations on suitable activities.
  • Conduct complex and sensitive conversations with families regarding end-of-life care and provide guidance on appropriate timings for activities.
Requirements
  • Fully qualified Health Play Specialist registered with HPSET.
  • Experience working with babies, children, and young people of all ages.
  • Experience working with babies, children, and young people with complex and/or palliative care needs.
  • Ability to travel around the East Midlands and work in rural locations.
