About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Outreach Play Specialist to join our dynamic team at Rainbows Children's Hospice. As a key member of our team, you will provide therapeutic and generic play and leisure activities for babies, children, and young people receiving end-of-life care in their homes and community settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual programmes of activity for babies, children, and young people in their homes and community settings.
  • Support family members in creating meaningful and enjoyable memories with their loved ones.
  • Advise and support family members on specialist play and leisure activities.
  • Carry out complex and sensitive conversations with families regarding end-of-life care, providing recommendations on suitable activities and advising on appropriate timings.
Requirements
  • Fully qualified Health Play Specialist registered with HPSET.
  • Experience working with babies, children, and young people of all ages.
  • Experience working with babies, children, and young people with complex and/or palliative care needs.
  • Ability to travel around the East Midlands and access rural locations.
