About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Outreach Play Specialist to join our team at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. As a key member of our community services team, you will provide therapeutic and generic play activities for babies, children, and young people receiving end-of-life care in their homes and community settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual programs of activity for children and young people in their homes and community environments.
  • Support family members in creating meaningful memories and activities using specialist skills.
  • Advise, support, and signpost family members regarding specialist play and end-of-life care.
  • Carry out complex and sensitive conversations with families regarding end-of-life care, providing recommendations on suitable activities and advising on appropriate timings.
Requirements
  • Fully qualified Health Play Specialist registered with HPSET.
  • Experience working with babies, children, and young people of all ages.
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex and/or palliative care needs.
  • Ability to travel around the East Midlands and access rural locations.
