Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Play Specialist to join our Outreach Services team at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic and generic play and leisure activities for babies, children, and young people within our hospice and community settings.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver play and leisure activities that cater to the diverse needs of our service users, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the Play Team, promoting effective teamwork and collaboration.
  • Work closely with the Family Support Lead to address employee relations matters and ensure a positive working environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to enhance our outreach services.
  • Contribute to the development of our outreach services, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.

  • Fully qualified Health Play Specialist with registration with HPSET.
  • Experience working with babies and children of all ages, including those with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and families.
  • Ability to teach and support other team members, promoting a culture of learning and development.
  • Good team work and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
