Pre-Assessment Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Pre-Assessment and Endoscopy Unit at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
About the Role
As a Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and providing specialist nursing care to patients undergoing pre-assessment and endoscopy procedures. You will be expected to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a team of nurses in the Pre-Assessment and Endoscopy Unit
* Provide specialist nursing care to patients undergoing pre-assessment and endoscopy procedures
* Develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide person-centred, evidence-based nursing care
* Lead in a specific area of Endoscopy practice, as agreed, making recommendations, coordinating projects and developing practice guidelines and policies based upon robust evidence gained from risk assessment, audit and literature
* Act as a liaison link with Specialist nurses and contribute to work involved in clinical trials - for example, data collection
* Collaborates and consults with the multi-professional health care team and the patient, communicating very sensitive, complex information
Person Specification
* Registered Nurse (Part 1. 8. 12 or 15 of register depending on area of practice) or National certification in area of Practice (minimum 1 years endoscopy experience)
* Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of an ongoing NMC revalidation
* Minimum of 3 years acute care registered nurse experience
* Previous experience in the relevant specialty of at least 2 years
* Understanding of professional and current issues related to area of practice
* Demonstrates ability to keep up to date with professional issues that influence nursing practice relating to the area of clinical practice, management education and research
