Children's Home Manager

The Registered Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring high-quality care and promoting the rights of young people. They must lead a team of care workers, adhering to relevant legislation and guidance, to achieve good outcomes for young people.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality care in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies.
- Adhere to legislative guidelines on Health & Safety and ensure staff have adequate working knowledge and training.
- Keep appropriate records and implement monitoring and evaluation systems.
- Provide management information, including statistical data collection and return.
- Develop and promote new techniques and approaches to childcare provision.
- Attend, prepare for, and chair various meetings internally and externally.
- Take on-call responsibilities and undertake sleep-in shifts as required.
- Write concise and evaluative reports and oversee written communication.
- Make decisions when appropriate and oversee admissions and discharges.
- Innovate and lead a vision in line with the organisational ethos.
Required Attributes
- Enthusiasm in providing high-quality care and education.
- Experience in managing a team.
- Comprehensive knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Familiarity with the needs of vulnerable individuals.
- Demonstrate high standards of safe working practice.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to maintain emotional resilience in challenging situations.
- Demonstrate respect for appropriate boundaries and authority.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to equal opportunities.
- Holds a current UK driving licence or has access to appropriate transport.
- Flexible and reliable.
- Participate in management forums and contribute to work practice, policies, and procedures.
Benefits
- 25 days per annum plus 8 statutory holidays.
- £2000 Bonus - Outstanding Ofsted Report.
- Full Occupancy Bonus - £300 a month.
- On Call payments - £25 weekday, £35 weekends.
- 39 hours full-time, sleep-in duties required as set out per Rota of home.
- Some office days will be required to assist in administrative duties.
- Petrol Allowance - Paid when using own car - proof of business insurance must be provided.
- Pension - In line with the organisational Pension Scheme and government guidance.
