Heritage Centre Museum Curator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Museum Curator to join our team at the Heritage Centre in Newham. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for managing our object collections and developing a compelling narrative to engage our audiences.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and develop the object collections, ensuring they are accurately documented and preserved for future generations.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Archivist, and interpretation consultant to develop a cohesive and engaging exhibition strategy.
- Collaborate with the Learning and Engagement Officer to design and deliver collecting and volunteer activities that promote community engagement with the collections.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including residents, Councillors, community groups, and cultural institutions.
- Proven experience in museum curation, with a strong understanding of collection management and exhibition development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
