Job Summary
The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Emergency Department administration team as a Patient Flow Coordinator. This vital role works alongside our Medical, Nursing, and Site Management teams to co-ordinate the activity within the Emergency Department.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the smooth flow of patients through the department. This will include tracking patient progress, maintaining records, and liaising with the Clinical team in accordance with guidelines.
The successful candidate will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a pleasant telephone manner. They will also have the ability to deal with confidentiality issues and provide excellent customer care service.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, where you will be exposed to patients who are presenting to the ED in an aggressive, distressed, or severely ill/injured state.
Main Duties of the Job
- Provide administrative support to the Emergency Department team
- Track patient progress and maintain records
- Liaise with the Clinical team in accordance with guidelines
- Deal with confidentiality issues and provide excellent customer care service
About the Role
This role would suit someone who has exceptional interpersonal skills, is proactive, and looking for a challenge. The successful candidate will be able to remain calm under pressure and have experience of dealing with the general public, and with difficult/distressed people.
Working Pattern: 18 hours per week.
Week 1: Monday 18:00 - 00:00, Thursday 18:00 - , Saturday 12:00 -18:00 and Sunday 12:00 - 18:00
Week 2: Friday 18:00 - , Saturday 18:00 - 00:00, Sunday 18:00 - 00:00
Week 3: Tuesday 18:00 - 00:00, Wednesday 18:00 - 00:00
Interview Date: Friday 20th September 2024
Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2023/24 | NHS Employers).
