About the Role


This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to join our theatre team as a Theatre Operations Manager - Patient Flow Specialist. We are seeking an experienced professional with excellent communication and organizational skills to oversee the efficient management of patient flow within our theatres.



Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • To maintain accurate records of theatre schedules, ensuring that all necessary information is up-to-date and accessible to staff at all times.
  • To work closely with the clinical teams to ensure smooth and efficient patient flow through the theatres, minimizing delays and optimizing resource allocation.
  • To identify areas for improvement in theatre operations and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • To liaise with other departments to resolve issues and ensure effective communication throughout the hospital.
  • To develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including community sites and other healthcare providers.


Requirements:

  • Degree in Healthcare or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 2 years' experience in a theatre or patient flow role, preferably within an NHS trust.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence others.
  • Experience of using software systems, including electronic patient record systems and spreadsheets.
  • A calm and methodical approach to handling complex situations, with a focus on patient safety and well-being.
