Care Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at Advantage Healthcare Limited. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children with complex needs in the community and their homes.
This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your skill base and utilise your complex care skills to support clients who require support in areas such as tracheotomy, ventilation, seizure management, and stoma care.
You will work with a variety of clients with complex needs, including spinal cord injuries, muscular dystrophy, acquired brain injuries, and other complex conditions. Every day will be different, and you will face new challenges, but you will be making a real difference in the lives of your clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Care Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality care and support to children with complex needs
- Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Administering medication and treatment as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Supporting clients with complex medical conditions, such as tracheotomy, ventilation, and seizure management
- Working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, and therapists
- Maintaining accurate records of client care and progress
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in paediatrics or a similar field
- Experience of working with children with complex needs
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
