Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled nurse with dermatology experience to join our small team as a Band 7 Nurse Specialist, delivering high-quality services to patients in Norfolk and Waveney.

Candidates can expect to undertake nurse-led clinics, minor surgical procedures, and leadership roles within the team alongside the Advanced Dermatology Nurse.

Main Responsibilities
  • The Dermatology Nurse Specialist (DNS) will be competent in working across all nurse-led clinics, including various service-related activities such as:
  • Minor skin surgery, including suturing, cryotherapy, Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), skin cancer, isotretinoin, biologics, and other systemic drug therapies.
  • Providing expert evidence-based advice on the care of individuals with dermatological conditions.
  • Coordinating service provision, offering professional expertise, care, and support to those requiring treatment for dermatological conditions and their families.
  • Ensuring clinical practice aligns with the 'Dermatology Nursing Competencies: Developing dermatology nurses from novice to expert.'
  • Participating actively in the dermatology team and wider professional agencies involved in the delivery of dermatology services.
  • Fostering key relationships with all members of the multi-professional team, including intermediate dermatology nursing teams, nursing and medical staff from other specialties, allied health professionals, and support workers.
  • Advancing standards of care and practice according to Trust Policies and Guidelines.
  • Assisting in maintaining and developing systems and strategies to enhance patient care delivery.
  • Engaging in promoting the best standards of clinical care and cost-effective delivery of that care, including medicines management and resource utilization.
  • Maintaining accurate and suitable professional standards of documentation and patient data.
